How we test mythology puzzle games.
Every score on this site comes from the same documented process. Here is exactly what we do before a number appears next to a game’s name.
First-session play
A fresh install, played as a new player would: tutorial clarity, early difficulty, first purchase prompt timing and onboarding pressure are all logged.
Extended sessions
At least five hours across a week, on both a recent and a mid-range phone. We track battery drain, load times, ads and where timers start to bite.
Multiplier & economy audit
We trigger multiplier mechanics deliberately and record whether the game states base value, duration and reset rules—or hides them behind animation.
Accessibility pass
Colour-blind filters, motion reduction, one-handed reach, text scaling and audio cues are each checked against a fixed list.
Scoring & review
Two editors score independently against the rubric below, then reconcile. Any disagreement wider than one point triggers a re-test.
THE SCORING RUBRIC
Six criteria, fixed weights.
Weights are published so readers can see exactly what a score rewards—and what it ignores. A beautiful storm effect cannot compensate for hidden pricing.
Gameplay
Rules clarity, pacing, challenge curve and decision quality.
Mobile experience
Touch targets, loading, battery, orientation, short-session fit.
Transparency
Pricing labels, purchase prompts, ads, data disclosures, multiplier math.
Accessibility
Legibility, colour dependence, motion and audio options.
Visual design
Readability and restraint—epic effects must never hide the board.
Entertainment value
Variety and satisfaction relative to time and monetisation friction.

If we ever use a store link that earns a commission, it is labelled inline and has no influence on rating. Games are chosen by the editorial team based on reader interest and genre significance.
